Schedule

A schedule is a set of rules that define when and which playlist to play on displays. One schedule can be applied to many devices at once, so multiple screens can show the same content at the same time.

  • Playlist: An ordered list of media (see the Media & playlists guide).
  • Schedule: A set of rules like “which playlist to play for which day and time,” e.g. “Weekdays 09:00–12:00 playlist A, 12:00–18:00 playlist B.”
  • Device: In Devices you assign a schedule to each device; the device then plays according to that schedule.

When you change a schedule, all devices using it get the update. You can prepare different schedules (e.g. by season or event) and assign the right one to each device.

  1. Go to the Schedule menu.
  2. You’ll see the list of schedules (name, description, number of rules, created date, etc.).
  3. Use Edit rules or Edit to open the rule editor for a schedule.
  1. In the Schedule menu, click New schedule.
  2. Enter a name (e.g. “Main lobby display”, “Holiday campaign”) and optional description.
  3. After creation it appears in the list. Next, add playback rules via Edit rules.

In the schedule editor you add and remove playback rules and see them on a timeline.

  1. Click Add rule or + Add rule.
  2. Set:
    • Playlist: Choose one of your playlists.
    • Start time / End time: When to play this playlist (e.g. 09:00–12:00).
    • Days: Which days the rule applies (every day, weekdays, weekend, or specific days).
  3. Save to add the rule to the schedule.

You can add multiple rules to one schedule (e.g. morning playlist on weekdays, afternoon playlist in the afternoon).

Use Delete on a rule in the list to remove it.

The editor shows a timeline and day badges so you can see which playlist runs when. Use it to check that the schedule is correct.

Creating a schedule does not assign it to devices. In Devices you must assign a schedule to each device.

  1. Go to Devices.
  2. Open the Schedule dropdown for the device.
  3. Select the schedule to use.
  4. Save; the device will then follow that schedule.

When the device is online it syncs the schedule and plays the playlist that matches the current day and time. If no rule matches or no schedule is assigned, a default standby screen is shown.
